My name is Carter Flemmer and I'm glad you've taken the time to see what Empower Tax & Accounting Services LLC has to offer. Hopefully you've scheduled some time to talk with us. My Story
My story as a CPA starts during my time at Baylor University. Although my father was a CPA, I never had planned that career for myself at the time. However, as fate would have it, many of the friends I met at Baylor were on that path as their major. I quickly began to notice that the subjects resonated with me easier than other courses I took. For whatever reason, I seemed to just "get it" for those courses. Given that, and the many amazing Baylor professors that guided me, I committed to becoming a CPA.

After graduating from Baylor in 2016 as the Master of Taxation student of the year, I began my working career with PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in my hometown of Dallas. My time at PwC set the foundation for my career as I learned from many of the top professionals in the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. In late 2018, I made a transition from PwC to a firm focused on small-businesses and service professionals. It was here that I discovered what drove me in accounting. I loved to help people and their businesses! For the next three years, I absorbed all that I could as I became a tax manager. I learned the nuances of small businesses and how to best serve them as their CPA. At the end of those three years, I was ready to learn from one more side of accounting that I had not seen. This led me to a position as an industry tax accountant. This was important to me as I learned exactly what my clients had been going through. I now had a deeper understanding of their needs, as well as a new skillset in sales tax.

In September 2022, I decided to set out to make Empower Tax & Accounting Services LLC. I had a passion for helping small businesses and individuals reach their financials goals and I was at a place in my career where I felt ready to do it on my own. Much of the foundation for the firm had already been set for years, but I put it into motion to make it my every day job.
